A History of Hartshill and Harpfields Residents' Association
The Association's records show an interest in a Residents' Parking Scheme in 1988, associated with parking in The Avenue by drivers visiting the shops, but it is in a letter dated 1 June 1995, that we first learn of the problems in Hartshill caused by the introduction of hospital parking charges.

20th Anniversary Celebration
A celebration to mark the 20th Anniversary of the Residents' Association was held prior to the Public Meeting on 21 September in the presence of the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Stoke-on-Trent. The celebration was funded by a grant from the Big Lottery Fund, which paid for a buffet and the setting up of a exhibition and the printing of a leaflet which included the timeline published above. A number of former Committee members and Newsletter deliverers attended to exchange memories of the Association.
